Call LM2026-I

The LM2026-I competitive access call is now open for the Luminescence Laboratory.

  • From: June 1, 2026
  • To: June 30, 2026

The purpose of this call is to provide access to the facilities of the CENIEH Luminescence Laboratory for the development of scientific research projects involving Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) dating, including the complete process of quartz extraction, measurements, and age estimation.

The competitive access programme will cover:

  • Sample extraction and preparation for OSL dating.
  • Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) measurements.
  • Age estimation using luminescence dating protocols.
  • Scientific and technical support associated with the analytical process.

This call includes the acceptance of a maximum of 30 samples.

The maximum number of samples per application is 5.

A single research project or applicant may not submit more than one application.

The results of the analyses will be delivered within a maximum period of 12 months from the receipt of the samples at the laboratory.

Sampling will be carried out by the specialised staff of the CENIEH Luminescence Laboratory. The associated costs will be borne by the applicant's project or the corresponding fees will be applied. In exceptional cases, samples may be collected directly by the applicants, provided that specific sampling conditions are met and prior approval is granted by the laboratory staff.

Samples must arrive at CENIEH within a maximum period of 6 months from the publication of the call results. Otherwise, access will be rejected and a new application must be submitted in future calls.

Accepted applications under this competitive access call will be charged according to Rate A, as established in the current General User Fees, plus the applicable VAT and an additional 10% management fee.

Invoices will be issued upon completion of the work. Where advance payment is required, advance invoices may be provided upon request.
